11. Fly fishing

Most rivers, including the Paro and Thimphu, allow fishing with a special permit. Bhutan’s best fly-fishing season is from mid-April to mid-May. Catch and release is the most common fly-fishing technique in Bhutan, as taking the fish back as a trophy is prohibited by the government.
